Erich Hermann alias the "Rundfunk-Fritzle" (born February 5, 1911 in Feuerbach near Stuttgart ; † July 18, 1984 ) was a Swabian humorist , parodist, singer and folk actor .

He was one of the big "Seven Swabians" in show business and was mentioned in the same breath as Willy Reichert and Oscar Heiler (alias Häberle and Pfleiderer ), Max Strecker , Werner Veidt , Oscar Müller and Walter Schultheiss .

Erich Hermann became famous as "Rundfunk-Fritzle" from the Süddeutscher Rundfunk . This role has made him a permanent fixture in favorite programs and children's programs as well as countless radio plays on the radio. To this day, Erich Hermann is considered the father of the "Fritzle jokes".

Erich Hermann's trademarks were his talent for perfectly imitating voices and his facial expressions. He could change his features so that no one recognized him. (Statement by his grandson Frank Gerlach).

His stage career began as early as 1930 at the Dramatic Society of Feuerbach, where he was discovered by director Frey at the time. During the war he kept German soldiers in hospitals. After the war, Hermann took voice training and singing lessons from the famous soprano Martha Haas . Erich Hermann was discovered by the director at the time, Franz Ulrich Gass , of Radio Stuttgart during a performance in the Untertürkheim singer hall and had its radio premiere on September 21, 1946.

The breakthrough as a radio or. Erich Hermann had Rundfunk Fritzle a few months later when he appeared as Fritzle on a broadcast in the Christmas Almanac on Radio Stuttgart and was henceforth christened "Rundfunk- or Radio Fritzle" by enthusiastic listeners. His “imaginary” relatives were soon joined by his grandfather, Aunt Frieda, Uncle Gustav and Uncle Paul, all of them native guys from Swabia.

Numerous appearances and "colorful evenings" with Camilla Horn , Lale Andersen , Helmut Zacharias , Peter Igelhoff and Peter Frankenfeld , and many more, followed. The advertising industry also made use of Erich Hermann's great popularity and the Maggi company hired him as "Maggi-Fritzle" from 1953 to 1960 on a major tour of Germany.

With his songs Der Killesberg , der Killesberg mein Paradies , he soon made the Stuttgart Höhenpark famous far beyond the borders of Württemberg and with Yes, at ons wird g'schetzt , Erich Hermann characterized the Swabian soul like hardly anyone else. Both songs became hits and are still often played on special programs today.

On July 7, 1981, Erich Hermann was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon for his extraordinary services by the Mayor of Stuttgart, Manfred Rommel . A special homage to his hometown Stuttgart is given to him by the naming Erich-Hermann-Weg in Stuttgart-Feuerbach with a view of the Killesberg.

On the occasion of his 100th birthday, a memorial stone was erected in his honor in Killesbergpark not far from the observation tower (see photo).
