Erich Hunold

Erich Hunold ( September 11, 1869 in Erfurt - December 4, 1923 in Braunschweig ) was a German opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Hunold, the son of a postal secretary, was appointed to theological studies after graduating from the Realgymnasium in Weimar. However, since he had been made aware of his beautiful voice by various art experts, he decided to become a stage singer.

He took lessons from Hans Feodor von Milde and Professor Carl Müller-Hartung . He found his first engagement in Teplitz, then came to the State Theater in Linz, from there to the City Theater in Halle and in 1895 joined the Association of the German State Theater in Prague, where he remained until at least 1905.

In Prague he performed on January 3, 1901 in the leading role "Mathis" in the world premiere of the opera The Polish Jew by Karel Weis and on November 15, 1903 in the world premiere of Eugen d'Albert's opera Tiefland as "Sebastiano", alongside Irene Alföldy and Desider Aranyi , with.

Later he was engaged at the court theater of Braunschweig.
