Erich Kundermann

Erich Kundermann (born January 10, 1903 in Berlin ; † September 13, 1992 there ) was a German politician ( KPD / SED ).

Life

Kundermann, the son of a gardener, did an apprenticeship as a belt maker and later worked as a metal worker. In 1918 he joined the Socialist Workers 'Youth and in 1919 the German Metal Workers' Association . Since 1923 he was a member of the Communist Youth Association of Germany (KJVD) and the Communist Party of Germany (KPD). From 1925 to 1929 Kundermann was a member of the KJVD district management Berlin-Brandenburg, from 1927 to 1929 he was also a member of the Central Committee of the KJVD. From 1925 to 1933 he was employed by the Soviet trade agency in Berlin. From 1929 to 1932 he was a member of the KPD district leadership in Berlin.

In October 1933 Kundermann emigrated to the Soviet Union via Czechoslovakia . In Moscow he was a student at the International Lenin School . From 1935 to 1941 he worked in various fields. After the attack by German troops on the Soviet Union in 1941 Kundermann worked as a political instructor for the Red Army in various POW camps . In 1943 he joined the National Committee "Free Germany" and was a teacher at various Antifa schools , from the end of 1944 a teacher at the KPD school in Moscow.

In 1945 Kundermann returned to Germany. In 1946 he became a member of the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED). From 1946 to 1950 he was head of the personnel (and training) department in the state interior administration and in the ministry for internal affairs of the state of Mecklenburg as well as chairman of the denazification commission of Mecklenburg.

From 1950 to 1955 he worked in the diplomatic service of the GDR and worked as a trade attaché or as a trade councilor in Warsaw . From 1955 Kundermann was an employee, then deputy head and from 1958 to 1961 finally head of the secretariat of the People's Chamber .

Kundermann was married to Aenne Kundermann , née Seufert (1907–2000).
