Erich Lange (born February 23, 1908 in Liegnitz , Province of Silesia , † July 1, 1954 in Berlin ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Erich Lange was a student of one of the high school graduate courses at the Karl Marx School in Berlin-Neukölln . He joined the Socialist Workers' Youth (SAJ) and in 1925 the SPD. First he studied law and political science at the German University of Politics , later at the University of Berlin . Long became an administrative clerk.

After the Second World War , Lange was elected to the District Assembly (BVV) in the Friedrichshain district in the first Berlin election in 1946 . The BVV elected him district mayor of Berlin-Friedrichshain, but the Soviet city commander Alexander Georgievich Kotikow refused him the necessary confirmation in January 1947. District mayor was then Wilhelm Mardus (SPD). In the next election in 1948 , Lange was elected to the city ​​council of Greater Berlin , at the end of December 1950 he left parliament. He became head of department at the Berlin Senate .
