Erich Rabl

Erich Rabl (born April 13, 1948 in Sieghartskirchen / Lower Austria ) is an Austrian teacher and historian. He is head of the Horn City Archives .

biography

Rabl attended the humanistic grammar school in Horn and studied history and geography at the University of Vienna , where he passed the teaching examination and obtained a doctorate in philosophy . From 1977 to 2010 he taught his subjects at the Horner Gymnasium and Aufbaugymnasium.

From 1983 to 1991 he organized numerous historical special exhibitions as deputy director and from 1991 to 2001 as director of the museums of the city of Horn. He is the editor and editor of a number of exhibition catalogs and commemorative publications as well as being in charge of the Waldviertel library in the Horn Museum until 2018.

From 1985 to 2018 he was president of the regional history association "Waldviertler Heimatbund" (WHB), which publishes the magazine "Das Waldviertel" and books in a series . From 1988 to 2007 he was editor-in-chief of the quarterly magazine “Das Waldviertel” and was editor of the WHB series for eight years.

Since 1983, Rabl has been in charge of the Horn City Archives, a well-preserved archive in a small town whose holdings have quadrupled over the past three and a half decades.

In numerous historical publications he mainly deals with the town history of Horn and the Waldviertel , with the agricultural history of Lower Austria as well as with the history of the market town of Sieghartskirchen .
