Gustav Reingrabner

Gustav Reingrabner (born October 4, 1936 in Vienna ) is an Austrian Evangelical Lutheran theologian . From 1975 to 1994 he was Superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent of A. B. Burgenland . From 1986 to 2005 he taught canon law at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Vienna . As a scientist, Reingrabner specializes in the history of Protestantism in Austria. He is also interested in evolutionary developments in cultural goods and publishes regularly in conference proceedings on cultural ethology .

Life

Gustav Reingrabner's family came from Zurndorf in Burgenland . Reingrabner went to school in his native Vienna and then studied Protestant theology at the University of Vienna . From 1960 to 1963 he was vicar at the Gustav Adolf Church in the Gumpendorf district of Vienna .

When Hans Gamauf was elected superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent of A. B. Burgenland in 1962, Gustav Reingrabner took over his pastor in the Burgenland community of Großpetersdorf . From 1964 to 1973 he also worked as a youth pastor for the Evangelical Lutheran congregations in Burgenland. He taught Protestant religion at several high schools, including the Evangelical Upper School High School in Oberschützen , the Commercial Academy in Oberwart and the Upper School High School in Güssing . In addition, there were teaching assignments at the Oberschützen branch of the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz . In 1973 he published his dissertation on the subject of nobility and the Reformation .

As the elected successor to Hans Gamauf, Gustav Reingrabner took up the post of Superintendent of the Evangelical Superintendent of Burgenland on October 1, 1975. Reingrabner ended his work as Superintendent of Burgenland in 1994. Gertraud Knoll was his successor in this office . In 1986 , Reingrabner completed his habilitation at the University of Vienna, where he was appointed chair of canon law in 1990 - as successor to Albert Stein . After his retirement in 2005, the Institute for Canon Law and Protestant Church Order was dissolved. Reingrabner was a project manager for research into the sermons critical of the National Socialism by Arnold Köster .
