Erich Redman

Erich Redman (* 1964 in the Soviet Union ) is a German actor .

Life

Redman was born the son of German immigrants in the Soviet Union and first grew up in Tajikistan . As part of the East-West relaxation, the family was allowed to return to Germany as Russian Germans in 1972 , where they settled in Wolfsburg . After completing his school education, he began studying business administration at Reutlingen University, staying in London after studying abroad at Middlesex University and graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration . After various jobs, he worked as a translator for an advertising company in Soho , where he happened to get a voice-over role in 1991 . He then took acting classes for three years in Germany and made his television debut in 1994 on the BBC series Lovejoy . In 1996 he played a recurring guest role on the ITV series The Nock . He also played other television roles in Die Profis - The Next Generation , Lewis - Der Oxford Krimi and The Night Manager . Redman was rarely seen in German productions, the exceptions being appearances in Ein Fall für Zwei and Der Clown .

After his feature film debut in the B-movie Demonsoul in 1994, he was given a role as a German World War II soldier in Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan in 1998 . As a result, he was in many casters on this roll set , which he, among others, in U-571 , Charlotte Gray , Captain America: The First Avenger and The Chosen - heroes of the resistance showed.
