Erich Straube

Erich Straube (born December 11, 1887 in Elsterwerda ; † March 31, 1971 in Osterode am Harz ) was a German officer , most recently a general of the infantry in World War II .

Life

Straube fought as an officer in the First World War . After the war he switched to the Reichswehr and served in various units. He led in the Second World War as commander of the 268th Infantry Division and as commander the 1st Parachute Army . Later in the war Straube worked as the commanding general of the XIII. Army Corps , of the LXXIV. Army Corps and the LXXXVI. Army Corps .
