Erich Wenderoth

Erich Wenderoth (born October 1, 1896 in Altenkirchen, Westerwald ; † September 2, 1993 in Düsseldorf ) was a German lawyer and co-founder and co-editor of the Rheinische Post .

Life

Wenderoth, who spent his childhood in Aachen, was wounded in the First World War . After the end of the war he studied law at the Ludoviciana in Gießen , where he received his doctorate in 1921 with the text The legal nature of the founding of the association . From 1926 he was a registered lawyer at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court . During the time of National Socialism , Wenderoth was a committed member of the Confessing Church . After the Second World War he was a member of the church leadership and the legal committee of the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland . Wenderoth is also one of the co-founders of the CDU in Düsseldorf. In 1946 Anton Betz asked Erich Wenderoth and Karl Arnold to take part in the publication of the Rheinische Post . In his main job, however, Wenderoth continued to work as a lawyer.
