Erika Scharer

Erika Scharer (born February 11, 1952 in Kaprun ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and former regional councilor in Salzburg .

education and profession

Erika Scharer attended elementary school in Kaprun from 1958 to 1962 and completed secondary school in Zell am See from 1962 to 1967 . She then learned the profession of office clerk from 1967 to 1970. Scharer was a consultant for the Zell am See employment service from 1974 and took the AMS training (C and B exams) between 1979 and 1986. From 2001 she took over the management of the AMS office in Zell am See. Between 1999 and 2001, Scharer also studied at the University of Salzburg and acquired the degree of academic social manager in a university course.

politics

Erika Scharer was local councilor in Kaprun from 1988 and from 1983 to 1995 local woman chairwoman of the SPÖ. Between 1999 and 2003 she was chairman of the SPÖ community council in Kaprun. In 1999 she was elected to the district executive committee of the SPÖ Pinzgau and took over the chairmanship there in 2005. Scharer represented the SPÖ between December 20, 2002 and February 6, 2007 in the National Council . Between 2006 and 2007 she was deputy chairman of the Ombudsman Committee.

Scharer was regional councilor in the Salzburg regional government Burgstaller I since February 7, 2007 , where she succeeded Erwin Buchinger . Her portfolio included the areas of health, social affairs, state homes and state institutions. In the following the state elections in Salzburg 2009 betrothed state government Burgstaller II she kept this function.

As part of a press conference on June 9, 2011, Scharer announced that she would resign from her position as regional councilor at the beginning of July 2011. She planned to keep her office as district chairwoman of the SPÖ Pinzgau. One day later, the SPÖ Salzburg presented the previous head of the social policy department of the Salzburg Chamber of Labor, Cornelia Schmidjell , as Scharer's successor. She was sworn in as a state councilor on July 6, 2011.
