Erika Schuchardt

Erika Schuchardt (born January 29, 1940 in Hamburg ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and professor of educational research and adult education .

Life

Erika Schuchardt studied education , sociology and psychology to become a teacher until 1965 . From 1967 to 1970 she was a department head at a community college , from 1970 to 1972 she studied adult education. Schuchardt received her doctorate in 1979 , completed her habilitation in 1982, and has been professor of educational research and adult education at the University of Hanover since 1982 and author of several books (see below).

Between 1972 and 1990 Schuchardt was a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany and a member of committees of the World Council of Churches . From 1984 to 1986 she was Vice President of the German UNESCO Commission . In 1989 she founded the Federal Working Group The Children of Chernobyl e. V. , of which she is still a member of the board .

Schuchardt was a member of the Bundestag for the CDU from 1994 to 2002 ; both times it entered the Bundestag via the Lower Saxony state list . In the 2002 elections , they did not run.
