Erika Wagner (politician)

Erika Wagner (born August 13, 1933 in Wanfried ; † July 26, 2011 there ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After completing secondary school, Erika Wagner worked as a technical assistant in the printing industry and from 1962 as a saleswoman in retail .

Erika Wagner was married and had a son.

politics

Erika Wagner had been a member of the SPD since 1959, where she held various board positions. Since 1973 she was chairwoman of the local association Eschwege, since 1970 member of the district executive of the SPD district Hessen-Nord.

In terms of local politics, Ms. Wagner was a member of the Eschwege district council and the Werra-Meißner district , where she chaired the SPD parliamentary group and finally chaired the district council.

From December 1, 1978 to April 4, 1995, Erika Wagner was a member of the Hessian state parliament for five electoral terms. There she was chairman of the environmental committee and vice-president from 1991 to 1995.

In 1979 Erika Wagner was a member of the 7th Federal Assembly .

Honors

Erika Wagner was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class in 1995. She is also the holder of the Freiherr vom Stein plaque from the State of Hesse.
