course

The Erlbach rises southeast of the Kropfkarscharte ( 2459  m above sea level ) between the Rauchegg ( 2549  m above sea level ) in the west and the Weißlachberg ( 2671  m above sea level ) in the north. It then flows to the south or south-east and takes on several spring streams that arise below the Abfalterer Alm or in the area of the Ascher Alm. Other more striking tributaries arise on the Ragglerboden and in the Ascher Wald and flow into the Erlbach on the right and left. In the lower reaches of the Erlbach flows past the localities at Beim Troger , Abfaltern and Abfaltersbach (all of Abfaltersbach) on the right, while on the left the villages of Kollreid , Gebreiten and Erlbrücke (all of Anras) line the bank. To the north of Abfaltersbach and Erlbrücke, the Erlbach also flows below Drautal Straße and Drautalbahn , before it flows south of Erlbrücke first into a small pond and then into the Drau.
