Erna Roth-Oberth

Erna Roth-Oberth (born February 27, 1922 in Schäßburg , Transylvania , † August 23, 2012 in Feucht ) was a Transylvanian-German lawyer. She was a daughter of Hermann Oberth and did her best to look after his estate.

Erna Oberth was born as the daughter of Hermann Oberth and his wife Mathilde. Bumblebee born. From 1929 to 1938 she attended schools in Mediasch and Sibiu and until 1939 after the family moved to Vienna . After the Second World War and her marriage to Josef Roth, she graduated from high school in Fürth in 1946 . She then began studying law at the University of Erlangen , which she continued at the University of Bern , where she was awarded a doctorate in 1951. jur. received his doctorate . She then worked in a chartered accountant firm in Vienna and in La Spezia in Italy.

From 1953 she worked as a legal advisor. She supported her father in handling his business affairs and in the publication of his work, especially the two books Hermann Oberth - Life, Work, Effect and Voters' Guide for a World Parliament . She founded the "Uni-Verlag Dr. E. Roth-Oberth ”, in which, among other things, her father's works were published. In 1969 she was in Salzburg co-founder of the International Förderkreis for aerospace, Hermann Oberth - Wernher von Braun (IFR), as its Vice President, she worked for many years. In 1971 she and her husband Josef Roth founded the Hermann Oberth Space Museum (HORM) in Feucht near Nuremberg with the aim of illustrating the development of space technology. Her husband Josef Roth died in 1985.

After the death of her father in 1989, Erna Roth-Oberth began to record his estate and to process the work on the history of space travel. In 1994 she organized the celebrations on the occasion of her father's 100th birthday and in 1996 the conference “Space History - 25 Years of the Hermann Oberth Space Museum” in Feucht. These meetings have been held annually since then.
