Ernest Llewellyn Woodward
Sir Ernest Llewellyn Woodward (born May 14, 1890 in London , † March 11, 1971 in Oxford ), often also EL Woodward , was a British historian whose research focus was on international relations in the 19th and 20th centuries. From 1944 to 1947 he taught at Oxford University . He worked at the private research institute Institute for Advanced Study from 1951 to 1960 and was employed there as an emeritus from 1961 to 1971.
Woodward was one of the editors of the source edition Documents on British Foreign Policy, 1919–1939 , which deals with British interwar politics. He also wrote Volume 13 of the Oxford History of England , which, under the title The Age of Reform, covers the period from 1815 to 1870.
