Ernest Obodo
Ernest Anaezichukwu Obodo (born October 24, 1966 in Awha-Imezi , Enugu , Nigeria ) is a Nigerian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Enugu .
Life
Ernest Obodo studied at the seminary in Enugu and received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Enugu on July 20, 2000 .
In addition to various tasks in pastoral care, he worked from 2004 to 2009 in the training of priests and as secretary of the diocesan clergy. He was also a member of the diocesan history commission during this period. From 2010 to 2016 he studied at the University of Innsbruck , where he obtained a licentiate and a Dr. theol. received his doctorate . Since 2016 he has been Rector of the St. Bernard Senior Seminary Hostel in Enugu and a lecturer at Bigard Memorial Seminary .
On 25 May 2018 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Mediana and Auxiliary Bishop of Enugu. He received the episcopal ordination on August 31 of the same year by the Apostolic Nuncio in Nigeria, Archbishop Antonio Filipazzi . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Onitsha , Valerian Okeke , and the Bishop of Enugu, Callistus Valentine Onaga .
