Ernesto Gallina
Ernesto Gallina (born May 15, 1924 in Frosinone , Italy , † May 16, 2002 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .
Life
Ernesto Gallina received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Veroli-Frosinone on May 31, 1947 .
On July 12, 1969, Pope Paul VI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Trebia and ordered him to Apostolic Nuncio in Cameroon and Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Gabon . The Cardinal Secretary of State, Jean-Marie Cardinal Villot , donated him episcopal ordination on August 10 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Archbishop of Curia Sergio Pignedoli , and the Bishop of Veroli-Frosinone, Giuseppe Marafini .
On March 13, 1971, Ernesto Gallina became Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Iran . Paul VI appointed him on January 4, 1976 official in the Vatican State Secretariat .
On May 15, 1999, Pope John Paul II accepted Ernesto Gallina's request to resign on grounds of age.
