Since the beginning of his activity in Weingarten, Seifriz has researched the music history of the Reichsabbey Weingarten , edited monastic music from Weingarten and other Upper Swabian monasteries and performed it with the Upper Swabian Chamber Choir and other ensembles. His essay Musikschaffen und Musikleben in Oberschwaben from 1971 represents the first scientific overview of the music history of the region. Seifriz was responsible for the rediscovery of the monastery composers Jakob Reiner (1560–1606) and Michael Kraf (around 1580–1627) and played their works on phonograms and for broadcasts on SWF . The 1989 Basilica Concert with works by Michael Kraf was also televised.
