Ernst August source
Ernst August Quelle (born December 7, 1931 in Herford ) is a German composer and pianist. At times he worked under the pseudonyms Ernst Arno , Bob Stanway and Enrico Sono as well as Ernie Quelle .
Life
Quelle received piano lessons at the age of six. From 1940 to 1944 he attended the Musisches Gymnasium Frankfurt am Main and gave his first concert with Beethoven , Schubert and Mussorgski in 1946 at the age of 15 .
After studying at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold from 1950 to 1956, where he studied with Hans Richter-Haaser , among others , he made his debut with an orchestra in Chopin's F minor concerto. He then worked as a pianist with the Barnabás von Géczy Orchestra in Munich and since 1960 freelance with the Bavarian Radio . Since then he has worked as a freelance pianist , composer and arranger on various radio stations, as well as on television, where his music and arrangements for the ZDF series Kommissar Maigret with the British actor Rupert Davies attracted attention. Quelle replaced the original music by composer Ron Grainer . As a chanson companion he was on the road for Hanne Wieder and Blandine Ebinger . His main creative areas range from modern light music, also for orchestra, to pop music. He recorded a jazz album for metronomes under his own name . In 1971 he accompanied Nelson Riddle on his album Changing Colors for MPS on the Hammond organ .
Between 1981 and 2009 Ernst August Quelle worked in the GEMA Works Committee ; he was promoted to deputy chairman in 1994. His son Alexander Quelle, born in 1960, is also active as a composer and has also performed live with his father.

Quelle created a total of around 500 compositions, including numerous melodies for television formats such as Aktenzeichen XY ... unsolved or the dubbing of silent films such as "Der Autonarr" (1929) by Harold Lloyd .
