Ernst Bleyer

Ernst Bleyer (born August 19, 1885 in Elbing , † August 1, 1977 in Gießen ) was a German banker .

Life

Ernst Bleyer, the son of the surgeon Dr. med. Ernst Bleyer senior and his wife Elise, née Contag, graduated from the Royal High School in Elbing . Bleyer then completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk at Norddeutsche Creditanstalt in his hometown . He then moved to Mannheim , where he took on a job as a bank clerk at the Süddeutsche Disconto-Gesellschaft, and in 1919 he was promoted to Deputy Director, a position he held until 1928.

Ernst Bleyer was then elected director of Commerzbank AG - Giessen, previously part of Mitteldeutsche Creditbank , an office which he held until he retired. In addition, he acted from 1945 to 1953 as vice, then until 1959 as president of the Gießen Chamber of Commerce and from 1942 to 1963 as treasurer of the Gießen University Society.

Bleyer, a member of the Rotarians , was awarded honorary membership of the Gießen Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Giessen University Society, the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class and, in 1951, the Honorary Senatorship of the Justus Liebig University in Giessen .

Ernst Bleyer married Margarete, née Contag, in 1915, with whom he had a child. He died in Gießen in 1977 just before the age of 92.
