Ernst Cammann (Landdrost)

Ernst Cammann (born February 12, 1818 in Verden , † April 11, 1875 in Hanover ) was a German Landdrost and Konsistorialrat .

Life

Born at the time of the Kingdom of Hanover , Ernst Cammann headed the elementary school system in the districts of Landdrostei Hanover , Landdrostei Hildesheim and Landdrostei Lüneburg from 1855 .

Camman's former home in Ahlem had to give way to the construction of the Ahlem town hall . The "[...] park with many rare trees" surrounding the building is still known today as "Cammann's garden".

According to the city of Hanover's address book from 1868, Ernst Camman was already out of service by 1867 at the latest . His residence at that time was Brüderstraße 1 l.

Ernst-Cammann-Strasse

With Ernst-Cammann-Strasse , which was laid out in 1959 as a connection between Richard-Lattorf-Strasse and Tegtmeyerallee , the state capital of Hanover has since honored the Landdrosten and Konsistorialrat posthumously .
