Ernst Carstens (politician)
Ernst Carstens (born July 28, 1872 in Elmshorn ; † October 2, 1923 there ) was an entrepreneur and member of the German Reichstag .
Life
Carstens was the son of the ceramic manufacturer Christian Hinrich Carstens and attended high school in Altona . Together with his brother Christian, he was the owner of the Magdeburg stoneware factory C. & E. Carstens in Magdeburg , Neuhaldensleben and Elmshorn as well as a wholesale and export business in household items in Elmshorn. Vice Sergeant in the Landwehr. From 1903 he was also a city councilor and from 1905 a city councilor in Elmshorn.
From 1907 to 1912 and from 1915 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the province of Schleswig-Holstein 6 Pinneberg , Segeberg and the Free People's Party .
