Ernst Eduard Wiltheiss
Ernst Eduard Wiltheiss (born June 12, 1855 in Worms , † July 7, 1900 in Halle ) was a German mathematician and founding member of the German Mathematicians Association . Wiltheiss research focus was dedicated to the hyperelliptic and Abelian functions .
Life
After studying mathematics at the University of Giessen and the University of Berlin , he received his doctorate on July 5, 1879 with the dissertation "The inversion of a group of systems of general hyperelliptic differential equations". On April 25, 1881 he was at the United University Halle-Wittenberg habilitation . From December 1886 he worked there as an associate professor and in the summer of 1892 there was an early retirement due to a severe brain condition from which he finally died.
Honors
In 1886 he was elected a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina .
