Ernst Ermert

Ernst Ermert (born February 22, 1918 in Gladbeck ; † April 11, 1988 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

After attending elementary school and high school, Ermert first did Reich labor service , then took part in World War II as a soldier and was employed as a navigation teacher in the Air Force . He later worked as a statistician, passed the second administrative examination and had been a member of the Public Services, Transport and Traffic Union (ÖTV) since 1946 .

Ermert had been a member of the SPD since 1947 and from 1950/51 as well as from 1960 council member of the city ​​of Duisburg and chairman of the SPD parliamentary group there. He was a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament from 1954 to 1958 and from 1962 to 1975.

In 1975, Ermert administered the office of Lord Mayor of the City of Duisburg as Council Commissioner.

Honors

According to Ermert, a retirement home of the Duisburg Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) is named today.
