Ernst Grenz

Ernst August Grenz (born March 9, 1855 in Danzig ; † March 20, 1921 in Dresden ) was a former, trade union official and member of the German Reichstag .

Grenz attended the free and middle school in Gdansk and learned molding in Lautenburg from 1870 to 1873 . Between 1885 and 1887 he was a freelance former master in Aue (Erzgebirge) and then worked again as a former until 1890. As a result of repeated reprisals, he was a traveling salesman, storekeeper and travel agent. At times he was employed in the "Leipziger Volkszeitung" expedition. From 1874–75 he was a member of the Hirsch-Duncker trade association , since 1876 a social democrat, in 1878 co-founder of the "Halle Free Press" and since the beginning of the eighties active for the organization of metal workers and formers. 1884 co-founder of the Leipzig-Plagwitz consumer association. For several years he was the second shop steward of the German Former, in 1891 co-founder of the Central Association of German Former and in 1893 of the organization of the warehouse keepers. Since 1890 he was a social democratic candidate for the 21st Saxon constituency.

From 1903 to 1907 and from 1912 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency Kingdom of Saxony 21 Annaberg , Schwarzenberg , Johanngeorgenstadt and the SPD . From February 1919 until his death he was a member of the Saxon People's Chamber and the Saxon State Parliament .
