Ernst Julius von Koschenbahr

Ernst Julius von Koschenbahr (* 1714 in Silesia; † October 17, 1776 ) was a royal Prussian major general and chief of infantry regiment No. 1 . He was the governor of Sommerschenburg and Dreyleben in the Duchy of Magdeburg and Johannisburg in Prussia .

family

He was a member of the Silesian noble family Koschembahr . His parents were the heir of Ober Sapraschine Christian Wilhelm von Koschenbahr († after 1726) and his wife Helene Sophie von Gaffron adH Groß Schottgau (* 1682). The Prussian major Hans Siegismund von Koschenbahr (1709–1760), who fell in front of the state hat , was his brother. He was married to Johanne Wilhelmine von Seydewitz (* 1718; † January 1, 1773) widowed von Hackeborn since March 7, 1745 . The couple had a son and a daughter. The general and his wife were buried in the garrison cemetery in Berlin .

Life

Since he was born in Silesia , he first went to the Electoral Saxon service. At the beginning of the Seven Years' War , the Saxon army was surrounded by the Prussians near Pirna . After the surrender, the Saxons were integrated into the Prussian army . His regiment was the Electoral Saxon Infantry Regiment No. 7 of Prince Carl Maximilian of Saxony . He himself came to King Friedrich II as Major de la Suite . As such, he came to the quarters in Wittenberg on October 3, 1756 . On February 6, 1761 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel and in May 1764 to colonel and commander of Infantry Regiment No. 28 . On September 9, 1767, he became governor of Johannisburg in Prussia and on September 11, 1766, governor of Sommerschenburg and Dreyleben in the Duchy of Magdeburg. In January 1768 he became chief of Infantry Regiment No. 1 , on May 26, 1770 he was promoted to major general. He died on October 17, 1776.
