Ernst Köhler (lawyer)

Ernst Köhler (born January 1, 1856 in Schweidnitz , Lower Silesia , † April 17, 1924 in Bad Doberan ) was a German administrative lawyer in Prussia.

Life

Köhler studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität and became active in the Corps Vandalia Heidelberg in 1873 . As an inactive he moved to the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Berlin . After the trainee examination (1876) and the assessor examination (1882), he became an upper border controller in Pless , Upper Silesia , in 1893 , and then an unskilled worker in the Prussian Ministry of Finance. In 1889 he was appointed to the Secret Finance Council and Lecturing Council. From 1897 he was President of the Stettin General Customs Directorate, in 1905 General Director of Customs and Indirect Taxes and Real Secret Upper Finance Council in Berlin. He represented the Kingdom of Prussia as a deputy authorized representative in the Federal Council . In 1913 he received the title of Real Secret Council with the predicate of excellence. Retired since 1918, he was chairman of the Association of Old Corps Students from 1920/21 .
