Lifetime work and volunteer work

Ernst Löschner with his choir in Budweis

Ernst Löschner directed the home choir of Eghalanda Gmoi z 'Hamburg, which he founded in Hamburg in 1960, for almost half a century . The choir made 450 appearances, including in Italy , Belgium , France , Austria , Switzerland , Hungary and Denmark . After the political change, especially the Czech Republic and Slovakia with their former German settlement areas, the Bohemian Forest , the Ore Mountains , the Giant Mountains , Moravia and the Egerland were the target of visits and appearances. Here, with the help of music, contacts were established with the Germans who had stayed in their homeland, but it also helped to normalize the relationship between Germans and Czechs in line with the European idea. The choir disbanded in 2004 due to the age of the members.

The repertoire of the choir included not only Egerland songs, but also folk songs from all over the German-speaking area and from several European countries - some in their original language.

In 1967 the choir recorded a record on the EUROPA label entitled Teure Heimat . This long-playing record (E 142) contains 18 tracks and a. with Jost Jus as vocal soloist and Anton Vradec on the zither . On the record E 155 Sounds of the Homeland - Egerland and Erzgebirge ' the choir contributed 17 titles.
