Ernst Liebergesell

Ernst Liebergesell (born July 23, 1902 in Munich ; † March 17, 1968 in Jamaica ) was a German building contractor.

Career

Liebergesell was born as the son of the Munich builder Paul Liebergesell . After studying at the Technical University of Munich , which he graduated with a degree in engineering, he joined the construction company Liebergesell & Lehmann founded by his father in 1927. When his father died in 1932, he took over sole management of the business. The company carried out numerous well-known buildings, such as the press house in Bayerstrasse , the reconstruction of the mortgage and exchange bank and the Oberpollinger department store.

In 1946 he became head of the Bavarian construction trade association and in 1948 head master of the building guild and president of the regional association of Bavarian building guilds. From 1951 to 1968 he was President of the Central Association of the German Building Industry and from 1953 Vice President of the International Association for Civil Engineering.

As a member of the CSU , he was a member of the Munich City Council from 1960.
