Ernst Meister (actor)
Ernst Meister (born February 23, 1926 in Vienna ; † September 27, 1986 there ) was an Austrian actor .
Life
Ernst Meister attended the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna after the Second World War . After initial engagements in Linz and at Viennese off-theaters, among others, Leon Epp tied him to the Volkstheater in Vienna in 1952 . There he designed well over 100 leading roles until his death. Meister achieved fame throughout Austria primarily through his outstanding speaking culture. In the 1950s, 60s and 70s he was extremely present as a radio broadcaster and reciter. He also gave the television culture series Der Fenstergucker cult status as a commentary with his concise timbre. Meister became popular with a broad audience through his involvement in the impromptu television series Die liebe Familie , which the then ORF program director Ernst Wolfram Marboe had invented as a bourgeois counterpart to the proletarian family saga Ein real Wiener geht nicht unter . Ernst Meister was married and has two sons. He lived in Vienna - Döbling in the Helmut-Qualtinger-Hof .
Ernst Meister received numerous awards, including the professional title of chamber actor and the Albin Skoda Ring . Meister died on September 27, 1986 of a heart attack in Vienna .
His honorary grave is on the Grinzinger Friedhof in Vienna (group 37, row 2, number 22).
