Ernst Meyer-Camberg

Ernst Meyer-Camberg (born November 12, 1904 in Würzburg as Ernst Meyer , † November 13, 1985 in Munich ) was a German internist and doctor for naturopathy. He became known as a student historian and autograph collector.

Life

Ernst Meyer was a son of the later naval chief staff physician and lung specialist Leonhard Meyer. After attending grammar schools in Regensburg and Nuremberg, he studied medicine at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen , where he became a member of the Onoldia Corps . In 1928 he passed the medical state examination and went to Königsberg as a medical intern . Pr. 1929 in Erlangen for Dr. med. doctorate, he was an assistant doctor in Königsberg. After further training stations in Augsburg and Berlin, Meyer took up a position as an assistant doctor in the internal department at the Berlin-Spandau hospital in 1933. In 1938 he became chief physician of the department for internal medicine in the sanatorium in Berlin-Buch . During the Second World War he served as a senior staff doctor in various armored divisions and as a senior internist in field and war hospitals. In the post-war period in Germany , he initially worked as the medical and scientific director of a pharmaceutical company. In 1949 he settled in Bad Camberg as an internist and founded a health clinic for naturopathy there in 1950 ( Kneippbad Camberg / Rhein ) and called himself Ernst Meyer-Camberg from then on. Meyer played a key role in the re-establishment of the Society for Medicinal Plant and Natural Product Research and later became its honorary chairman. He moved to Seeshaupt in 1964 and also founded his own clinic for naturopathy there. In 1977 he retired to Munich-Pasing.

Meyer-Camberg dealt with university history and student history as a student . He wrote many publications in these fields . From 1980 to 1984 he was editor of the yearbook once and now of the association for corps student historical research . He also made a name for himself as a specialist in autographs . He bequeathed his extensive collection to the University of Erlangen as a foundation.
