Ernst Otto Haas

Ernst Otto Haas (born February 18, 1912 in Diedenhofen , Lorraine , † July 3, 1984 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1967 to 1975 he was a member of the Landtag of Schleswig-Holstein .

Life and work

Ernst Otto Haas attended a humanistic grammar school and graduated from high school. From 1931 to 1933 he completed a commercial apprenticeship in Essen and Hamburg. Between 1933 and 1939 he was employed in various commercial positions at banks and in industry in Hamburg, Bochum, Nuremberg and Düsseldorf. From 1939 to 1945 Haas took as a soldier of the Wehrmacht at the World War II in part, most recently, he was captain of the reserve. After the war he held leading positions in the food import business until 1955, and in 1955 he started his own business in the food import and packaging industry. Haas was married and the father of four children.

Haas joined the CDU in 1953. He later became chairman of the CDU local branch in Wohltorf and a member of the district board of the CDU Lauenburg . He was also a board member of the CDU regional committee for economics and medium-sized businesses and a member of the CDU's economic council in Bonn. He also sat on the advisory board of the Schleswig-Holstein Economy Study and Promotion Society. V.

In the state elections in 1967 Haas was elected as a direct candidate for the CDU in constituency 43 (Geesthacht) in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament, four years later he was able to repeat his election success in the renamed constituency 43 (Reinbek). He was a member of parliament from May 16, 1967 to May 24, 1975. During the entire time in the state parliament he was a member of the Economic Committee, from 1967 to 1971 also in the Committee for Labor and Development, and until 1970 in the Committee for People's Welfare.

In 1975 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon at the suggestion of the Schleswig-Holstein state government .
