The 6th state election in Schleswig-Holstein took place on April 23, 1967 . Following the trend in other federal states, the NPD was able to move into the state parliament. Otherwise there were no major shifts compared to the previous state election . The CDU / FDP coalition retained its majority and continued.
On December 27, 1961, the electoral term was extended by six months to the state constitution , so that the previous electoral term lasted from October 29, 1962 to April 28, 1967.
