The state election in Schleswig-Holstein in 1958 was the fourth free election to the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament and took place on September 28, 1958 . The CDU achieved a clear electoral victory, became the strongest force for the first time after votes and mandates and was able to form a government made up of CDU and FDP. The BHE left the government.

In the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 1954 , a had a majority of CDU , BHE and FDP result. The result of the 1954 election was:

After the election, Kai-Uwe von Hassel , who was also the top candidate of the CDU in the state elections in 1958, became prime minister of the bourgeois coalition .

Suffrage

According to the Bonn-Copenhagen declarations , the five percent hurdle for SSW was abolished in 1955. Thus, despite another loss of votes, the SSW made it into the state parliament with 2.8% of the votes and provided two members there .

The elected members of the Landtag can be found in the list of members of the Landtag Schleswig-Holstein (4th electoral period) .

A coalition of CDU and FDP was formed and Kai-Uwe von Hassel remained Prime Minister. His cabinet also remained unchanged despite the BHE leaving the government. The reason was the transfer of the BHE ministers Lena Ohnesorge and Carl-Anton Schaefer to the CDU.
