Ernst Reinhold Lasnik (born May 23, 1950 in Tregist ) is an Austrian author , historian and folklorist .

Career

Lasnik attended elementary and secondary schools in Köflach and Bärnbach from 1956 to 1964 . He then completed an apprenticeship as an insurance salesman and worked as a sales manager in the building materials industry. After passing the vocational matriculation examination , he studied history and folklore from 1982 at the Karl-Franzens-University in Graz. In 1987 he graduated as a Magister phil., In 1990 the doctorate in philology.

In addition to his studies, Lasnik was a freelance journalist for ORF and various newspapers. From 1973 to 1974 he took part in the UN mission in Cyprus , in 1977 he was involved in the mission in Syria . In 1980 he became a member of the municipal council of the city of Bärnbach, whose second vice mayor he was from 1990 to 1995. Since 1986 he has been the correspondent of the Historical State Commission for Styria for the Köflach and Voitsberg area . From October 18, 1991 to January 22, 1996 he was a member of the Austrian Federal Council . Since 1997 he has been the chairman of the Catholic Educational Institutions of Styria. In 2003 he was scientific director of the Styrian state exhibition Mythos Pferd in Piber near Köflach and since 2012 he has been the vice-president of the Styrian Castle Association.

Lasnik was and is a research assistant, organizer and designer of many exhibitions and museums.
