Ernst Track (born January 20, 1911 in Vienna ; † April 17, 1987 there ) was a cabaret artist and composer .

Life

The trained businessman received private lessons in piano , accordion , organ , guitar and harmony . Musically gifted, he began his career in 1930 as a piano accompanist for amateur performances, but soon became self-employed as a piano humorist and conférencier , mostly writing his chansons and couplets himself. In the 1950s, it became popular with the radio series "We invite you". He earned merit by maintaining the Wienerlied and composed over 400 songs himself. Silver Medal of the Republic of Austria (1970); Silver Mark of Merit (1971); Gold Medal of Honor of the Republic of Austria (1980). Serious track way.
