Ernst Christian Wenckenbach (born May 3, 1811 in Herborn ; † April 18, 1876 ​​there ) was a Nassau politician .

Life

Ernst Wenckenbach attended the Dillenburg Latin School from 1825 to 1827 and then the Weilburg grammar school . From 1833 he studied law at the universities of Giessen and Heidelberg . In 1857 he became a bailiff with the title of Justizrat in the Hochheim office and later a lawyer and businessman in Herborn.

After the March Revolution he was a member of the Nassau Estates Assembly for constituency 1 (Dillenburg / Herborn) from 1848 to 1849 . In a by-election in 1849, Dr. med. Emil Haupt elected to the meeting of the estates.

family

Ernst Wenckenbach, who was a Protestant denomination, was the son of the Official Assessor Johann Peter Wenckenbach (* July 1774 in Wetter ; † 14 July 1829 in Herborn) and his wife Johanne Elisabethe Katharina nee Meerbott (* November 11, 1772 in Nauheim ; 30 March 1856 in Herborn). His brother, Ludwig Wenckenbach , was also a member of the state parliament.

He married Henriette Charlotte Karoline Christiane nee Rittershausen (born February 19, 1813; † August 11, 1839 there) in Herborn on February 19, 1838, the daughter of the pharmacist Johann August Rittershausen and his wife Anna Elisabeth nee Theiß.

In 1854 he married Wilhelmine nee Wenckenbach (born May 2, 1831 in Dillenburg), the daughter of court judge Johann Friedlieb August Wenckenbach and his wife Johannette Philippine nee Jäger.
