Ernst Wenzel (medic, 1891)

Ernst Wenzel (born June 8, 1891 in Frankfurt (Oder) ; † 1945 ) was a German physician and general doctor of the police with the rank of SS brigade leader at the time of National Socialism .

Life

Wenzel completed a medical degree and received his license to practice medicine in August 1914 . During the First World War he was first an assistant doctor , then a senior doctor and trained as an internist and pediatrician . After the end of the war in December 1919, he received his doctorate as Dr. med. and in April 1920 he became staff doctor and six months later senior staff doctor .

After the " seizure of power " he became a member of the NSDAP ( membership number 4.833.153) and SS (SS number 248.117). In June 1936, he was appointed Oberfeldarzt and in February 1939 for Colonel doctor transported.

At the beginning of February 1942 he was appointed general doctor of the police and from then on he headed the Office Group Command III until the end of 1943 and was in personal union after his promotion to SS-Brigadführer from April 1942 to September 1943 general inspector for the medical system in the main office of the Ordnungspolizei . Until he retired at the end of February 1944, he was still active in the police force. He committed 1945 suicide .
