Ernst von Apfaltern
Ernst von Apfaltern (born March 12, 1720 in Vienna , † October 14, 1767 in Steyr ) was an Austrian Jesuit and philosopher .
Life
Ernst von Apfaltern came from the family of those von Abfaltern (noble family) , who had lived in Carniola since the 9th century . In 1675 Ernst's ancestor Ferdinand Ernst von Apfaltern was raised to the baron status by Leopold I and the family .
Von Apfaltern joined the Jesuit order at an early age. From 1748 he was dean of the philosophy faculty at the University of Vienna .
