Ernst of Beauvais

Ernst von Beauvais (born November 27, 1923 in Bonn ; † September 18, 2001 in Keitum on Sylt ) was a German ministerial official .

Life

Ernst von Beauvais studied law and economics at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn and the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen . In 1950 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . In 1952 he joined the Corps Franconia Tübingen . In 1951 he passed the first state examination in law. In 1952 he passed his diploma. pole. In 1956 he passed the second state examination in law and was awarded a doctorate in law and political science at the University of Bonn. rer. pole. PhD.

Ernst Beauvais joined the Federal Ministry of Economics in 1957 . As a sub-department head, responsible for handicrafts and sales, and ministerial director , he became head of the SME policy department and ministerial director in 1973 . In 1988 he retired. Beauvais was from 1973 to 1988 chairman of the board of trustees of the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt and the Federal Institute for Materials Testing . He shaped German SME policy under the liberal economics ministers Hans Friderichs , Otto Graf Lambsdorff and Martin Bangemann . He belonged to the FDP .
