Ernst zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg
Ernst Alban Ludwig zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg (born September 25, 1854 in Dresden ; † April 20, 1931 in Kreuzwertheim ) was a German nobleman and since 1887 the fifth prince of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg .
origin
The noble family of those zu Löwenstein goes back to the Wittelsbacher Friedrich I, the victorious , elector of the Palatinate (1425–1476), whose children from his morganatic marriage with Clara Tott were not entitled to inheritance in their own dynasty, which is why they formed an independent noble family . With the death of Count Ludwig III. von Löwenstein in 1611 the two main lines emerged, the Evangelical line Löwenstein-Wertheim-Virneburg (later Freudenberg) and the Catholic line Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rochefort (later Rosenberg).
Life
Prince Ernst was born on September 25, 1854. He was the son of Prince Wilhelm zu Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg (1817–1887) from his marriage to Olga Clara, née Countess von Schönburg-Fordglauchau (1831–1868). He had eight siblings.
Ernst was President of the Association of German Classes, 1914-18 stage commander in Kolmar. He had been head of the Löwenstein-Wertheim-Freudenberg house since 1887 and, as a registrar from 1887 to 1918, had a seat and vote in the First Chamber of the Württemberg Lands , the First Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly , the First Chamber of the Bavarian Reichsrat and the Hessian Chamber of the Noblemen .

On June 17, 1886, Ernst married Countess Wanda Auguste von Wylich and Lottum in Putbus (* December 2, 1867 in Berlin; † March 10, 1930 in Kreuzwertheim), daughter of Wilhelm Carl Gustav Malte, Count of Wylich and Lottum and Wanda Maria Freiin from Veltheim-Bartensleben.
