Erra is a band from Birmingham , Alabama , formed in 2009 . Stylistically, the band moves in metalcore , with elements from progressive metal and djent . This style is also called progressive metalcore . Their name originates from the deity Erra . The band names Misery Signals , Born of Osiris , As I Lay Dying and Saosin as influences . They are currently under contract with the Sumerian Records label .

history

After the band was founded in 2009, the first two EPs ERRA and Andromeda followed in 2010 . Her debut album Impulse followed in 2011 .

On November 20, 2012, the band announced that their bassist Adam Hicks had left the band to go to college . Sean Price filled the spot again. The band members said in an interview that they deal with philosophy (e.g. by Henri Bergson ), which is reflected in their albums.

The album Augment followed in 2013 , whereby the title of the album (in German: aufrüsten / better / ausstatten) should indicate the improvement of the band. It debuted at number 117 on the US charts.

On July 11, 2014, the band announced that their singer Garrison Lee had left them and that Ian Eubanks would take their place. Shortly afterwards the EP Moments of Clarity was released. On February 5, 2016, JT Cavey, the former Texas singer in July , was introduced as the new front man. The third studio album, called Drift , was released on April 8, 2016 via Sumerian Records .

On June 12, 2018 the band announced their next album "Neon", which will be released on August 10, 2018. In addition, the first single from the new album, "Disarray" was released. On July 11, 2018, the second single from the new album, "Breach", was released. On August 8, 2019, the band released their single Eye of God .

Ghost Atlas

Jesse Cash, founding member of the band, has been releasing music in his solo project " Ghost Atlas " since 2013 . So far, 2 EPs and 2 albums have been released, most recently in 2019 "Sleep Therapy: An Acoustic Performance".

The Artificials

Alan Rigdon, another founding member, formed the band " The Artificials " after he was kicked out of the band in 2014 . He dealt with leaving ERRA in the song "Fox Follows".
