Erwin Bohatsch

Erwin Bohatsch (* 1951 in Mürzzuschlag , Styria ) is an Austrian artist ( painting , drawings , graphics ). He is one of the most important representatives of the Austrian interpretation of abstract painting. Since the 1980s, his works have also received international recognition.

Life

From 1966 to 1970 Bohatsch attended the Graz School of Applied Arts with Otto Brunner. From 1971 to 1976 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna with Walter Eckert . In 1984/85 he received a DAAD scholarship for a one-year work stay in Berlin.

Bohatsch taught at the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts in Salzburg in 1992, at the International Summer Academy for Fine Arts in Gomera in 1993 and at the Berlin Summer Academy for Fine Arts in 1994.

Bohatsch has held a professorship for abstract painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna since 2005 .
