Erwin Gieseking
Erwin Gieseking (born December 17, 1911 in Mülheim an der Ruhr , † June 21, 1994 in Dudweiler ) was a German politician ( BdD , DDU ).
Life and work
Gieseking had a doctorate in law and practiced as a lawyer in Sulzbach / Saar since 1947 . He represented the KPD as an agent in the prohibition proceedings before the Federal Constitutional Court . In 1988 he retired and returned his license to practice as a lawyer. Gieseking was married and had two children.
politics
Gieseking was admitted to the NSDAP on May 1, 1937 (membership number 4,596,396).
Gieseking was involved in the left-wing German Democratic Union , of which he has been a member since it was founded in 1955. This Saarland party was joined in 1957 by many previous members of the KPS , which fell under the KPD ban when the Saarland joined the Federal Republic of Germany . In the state election in 1960 he was elected to the Saarland state parliament for the DDU . On March 3, 1961, the DDU joined the German Peace Union as its Saarland regional association, which also made Gieseking a DFU member. Gieseking himself had been one of the signatories of the DFU founding appeal in 1960. After the DDU failed in the state election in 1965 with 3.1% of the vote at the 5 percent hurdle , he left the state parliament.
He was also active in the Bund der Deutschen , for which he ran unsuccessfully in the Bundestag election in Saarbrücken-Stadt and as a top candidate from Saarland in the 1957 Bundestag elections . Since 1956 he was BdD state chairman in Saarland.
