Erwin Himmelseher

Erwin Himmelseher (born August 19, 1919 in Hanau ; † August 26, 2012 in Frechen -Königsdorf) was a German insurance salesman and sports patron.

Career

Himmelseher was established as an insurance broker. He was a pioneer in sports insurance and was an insurance partner of FIFA from 1974 . After the end of his own sports career due to injury, he campaigned for the promotion of sport, especially popular sports and youth development. On his initiative, the Foundation for Safety in Skisport (SIS) and the Friends of Skisports e. V. back. He also initiated the establishment of the DSV ski watch and the construction of the “Haus des Ski” in Planegg.

He was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Deutsche Sporthilfe Foundation and the Sepp Herberger Foundation .
