Erwin Koen (born September 7, 1978 in Den Helder ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

Koen played for Rot-Weiss Essen from 2000 to 2005 and completed 23 second division and 120 regional division games. With Essen he rose to the top scorer in the 2nd Bundesliga in 2004 . After the direct relegation, he moved to Alemannia Aachen and rose there in the following year in the Bundesliga . The 2006/07 season began on August 11, 2006, so Koen was still able to move to SC Paderborn 07 on August 31, a few hours before the expiry of the transfer deadline , although he was substituted on against FC Schalke 04 on the 2nd match day and thus his only one Bundesliga was used.

Two days after a 1-1 draw against SV Wehen Wiesbaden on matchday 33, 2007/08, which sealed relegation from the second division, he signed a two-year contract in Wiesbaden. After the descent of the SVWW from the 2nd Bundesliga in 2009, he left the club and moved to Telstar Velsen in the Netherlands in the second-class Eerste Divisie . After a year he went to the top class club De Treffers from Groesbeek . In the 2011/12 season he was under contract with JVC Cuijk . Then he let his career end with the amateur club SV Leones .

He took over his first coaching position in 2014 at VV Eldenia from Arnhem.
