Erwin Scheil

Erwin Scheil (born August 6, 1908 in Berlin ; † June 8, 1991 there ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Erwin Scheil attended elementary school and did an apprenticeship as a lathe operator . He became an employee of the Bergmann company in Berlin-Wilhelmsruh . In 1932 he joined the SPD and the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold . After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists in 1933, he went into trade union resistance.

After the Second World War , Scheil first became a construction worker and from 1950 a full-time employee of the union. In the Berlin election in 1958 , he was elected to the district assembly in the Reinickendorf district. In March 1960, the Bundestag member Franz Neumann resigned from the Berlin House of Representatives , so that Scheil could move up in the House of Representatives. In the 1967 election he was re-elected to parliament.
