Erwin Strempel (born January 6, 1924 - October 17, 1999 ) was a German football player.

Career

Strempel began playing football at SC Blieskastel-Lautzkirchen , a multi-discipline club from the town of the same name in the Saarpfalz district . 22 years old, he became the season 1946/47 from 1. FC Saarbrücken committed and he owned up to the end of the season 1954/55 to. For him he was first used in the north group of the Oberliga Südwest . After he had finished second behind 1. FC Kaiserslautern at the end of the 1947/48 season , he switched to the Saarland Honorary League for three seasons before returning to the Southwest Oberliga for the 1951/52 season. He finished the season with 1. FC Saarbrücken as Southwest Champion. He then took part with his team in the final round of the German championship 1951/52 , played all six games in Group 1 , from which he emerged as the winner - even before 1. FC Nürnberg - and reached the final against VfB Stuttgart . The game played on June 22, 1952 in Ludwigshafen am Rhein, however, was lost 3-2.

From 1955 to 1959 he played for league rivals Borussia Neunkirchen . He ended his football career in 1968 as a player-coach in Blieskastel - but not in goal, but as a center forward, as was the case when he was a soldier .
