Erwin Vanderbroeck (born March 21, 1968 in Maastricht ) is a former Dutch football player .

Career

Vanderbroeck began his career in 1986 at MVV Maastricht in the Eredivisie , the top Dutch division. After relegation at the end of the season, he stayed with the team and was able to celebrate the promotion again in 1988. After another year, the midfielder moved to Roda Kerkrade . There the club officials decided to loan the then young player to VV St. Truiden in the Belgian Jupiler League in order to let him develop. After a season Vanderbroeck returned to the Netherlands. There he finally made his league debut for Kerkrade, but was awarded to VVV Venlo in the Eerste Divisie before the end of the summer transfer . In 1991 he achieved his second promotion to the Eredivisie with Venlo. After another year at Venlo, he returned to Roda JC in 1992. This time Vanderbroeck was able to prevail under Kerkrades new coach Huub Stevens in the black and yellow and it began its most successful time, in which the team finally even became runner-up in 1995. But since he only made two appearances in the successful season, he moved to the then regional league team Alemannia Aachen in September 1995 . In 1999 he rose to the 2nd Bundesliga with Aachen . There he played a year in German professional football. In Aachen, the Dutchman was next to Stephan Lämmermann, the crowd favorite of the promotion season . His meager farewell at the Tivoli at the end of the 2000 season after he had been sorted out by coach Eugen Hach was therefore disappointing . Vanderbroeck then ended his career as a professional footballer and then played at the neighboring Belgian AS Eupen and the Dutch SV Meerssen in the amateur field.
