Eskiyapar is a village in the Alaca district of the Turkish province of Çorum . The place is six kilometers west of the district center Alaca and about 65 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital Çorum . One kilometer to the south, the D-190 road runs from Sungurlu in the west to Zile in the east. In the north is the Elmalı Dağı mountain range , behind it at a distance of about ten kilometers from Eskiyapar the site of Alaca Höyük .

In the southeast of the village is the Eskiyapar Höyük settlement hill , which was inhabited from the early Bronze Age to the Roman era . It harbors an important Hittite city ​​and is being excavated by a team from Ankara University .
